Sarah R. Christ
Mrs. Sarah R. Christ, 91, of Sardis, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Cleveland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Mrs. Christ was born on January 27, 1925 in Panola County, Mississippi to the late Gladys Smith Riales and Bryant Preston Riales. She was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a retired housemother for Baddour Memorial Center.
She is survived by five sons, John W. Christ (Sherry), Edward “Butch” P. Christ, Sr. (Diane), George M. “Mike” Christ, Charles M. “Mark” Christ, Sr., and Timothy “Tim” A. Christ (Rhonda); four daughters, Sharon Christ Jones (David), Charlotte C. Christ, Aleita Christ Daniels (Mike), and Premela Christ Wallace (Chuck); one daughter-in-law, Cindy Kanapeaux Christ; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Christ, Sr.; her son, Samuel D. Christ, Jr.; and her parents.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 24, at 2 p.m. in the Sardis United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis. Visitation was held on Monday, January 23, from 6-8 p.m. in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m., in the church.
Ray-Nowell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Rose Lee Mitchell
Rose Lee Mitchell, 54, cafeteria worker, of Senatobia, passed away on January 18, 2017. Funeral services were held at Hammond Hill M.B. Church on Saturday, January 28 at 12 noon. Burial followed at Hammond Hill Church Cemetery in Senatobia.
She is survived by her husband, Earnest Lee Mitchell Sr.; mother, Catherine Rodgers Williams; daughters, Darneshia Mitchell of Senatobia, Amber L. Wooten of Senatobia, and Merchell Boston of Oxford; sons, Earnest Lee Mitchell Jr. of Senatobia and Lamarcus Antroine Boston of Senatobia; sisters, Emma Mitchell of Senatobia, Janice Kay Campbell of Milwaukee, Wisc., Mary Aldridge, Sylvia Aldridge, Vanessa Aldridge, and Faleasha Aldridge, all of Chicago, Ill.; brothers, Jonie Williams of Walnut Grove, Herbert Williams of Jackson, Timmy Williams of Senatobia, and James Ward of Jonesboro, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater had charge of the arrangements.
Ronnie Leon Petty
Ronnie Leon Petty, 28, of Como, passed away January 20, 2017. Funeral services were held at Liberty Hill M.B. Church in Como on Saturday, January 28 at 2:30 p.m. Interment followed in Liberty Hill M.B. Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lakeshi Lloyd of Como; a son, Kingston Petty of Como; his mother, Leeola Petty of Como; his father, R G Freeman of Como; one sister, Debra Ramsey of Senatobia; and four brothers, Michael Petty of Como, Kethra Petty of Como, Ricky Petty of Como, and Darwith Petty of Meridian.
