Tate County is welcoming a new ambulance service for its residents for the first time in several years.

The county’s board of supervisors announced at its monthly meeting last week the contract with MedStat, which ended April 6, won’t be renewed ending a nine-year relationship with the ambulance company.

Tate County will enter a three-year contract with Pafford Emergency Medical Services, which is based in Hope, Ark., in early May.

For more information on this developing story, read the Tuesday, April 11 printed edition of the Tate Record.
