   The Magnolia Heights Junior High Football Chiefs lost to the Madison Ridgeland Academy Patriots 22-13, Thursday, August 30 at Madison.
   Starters for the Chiefs on offense were Rick Koller and Ted Billingsley at Tackles, John Ellis Price and Bowen Goff at Guards, Logan Lipscomb at Center, Hunter Harris at Quarterback, Gaston Harris, Carson Barham and Brendan Clayton at Wide Receivers, Drew Prosek at Fullback and Deondre Fields at Running Back. On defense the starters were: Jackson Price and John Michael Varadi at Ends, Harrison Smith and Prosek at tackles, Collin Borgononi, Andon Chambliss, Garrett Smith and O'Conner at Linebackers, Barham and Brady Harris at Cornerbacks and Fields at Free Safety. Also seeing action in the A and/or B Games were: Jackson Thomas, WIll Howell, Roshan Khan, Jacob Emerson, Ross Thompson, Nick Hall, Garrett Holland, Jaxon Jenkins, Rhett Koller, Sam Gibson, Chase Jennings, Curt Duncan, Garrett Robison, Luke Dunavent, Balor Sowell, Devin Grossman and Lane Williams.
   Prosek returned the opening kickoff from the 20 to the MH 30. H. Harris fired a lateral pass to G. Harris who passed to Prosek for a score with 7:42 left. Barham kicked the extra point for a lead of 7-0.
   The Pats received the ensuing kickoff and drove for a score that came on a 10 yard run with 3:43 left. The kick was good to tie the score 7-7.
   The Pats kicked off, held, forced a punt and got a safety when the ball was snapped into the end zone for a lead of 9-7 with 1:37 left.
   The Pats received the ensuing kickoff and drove for a score that came on a 10 yard pass with 7:57 left in the second quarter. G. Smith blocked the kick, and the score remained 15-7.
   Later in the quarter, MRA scored on a 90 yard return of a pass interception. The kick was good for a lead of 22-7.
   In the third quarter, a fumble recovery by Prosek gave the Chiefs possession on the MRA 47. WIth H. Harris doing the running and passing to Fields, the Chiefs drove to the 1. Harris then ran up the middle for a score with 7:05 left in the fourth quarter. The two point conversion attempt failed.
   Despite a good effort, the Chiefs were defeated by a very good Patriot Team.
   The Chiefs are now 1-2. Thursday, September 6, the Chiefs will play Washington at Cahill Field beginning at 6:30 PM. The Chiefs must bounce back from the MRA defeat and play good ball in order to win.
   MRA won the B Game 13-6. The score for the Chiefs came on a 30 yard return of a pass interception by G. Harris.
